New Responsibilities in the Sales and Marketing Division of the BMW Group

MUNICH, Germany – January 21, 2009: As a result of organizational enhancements made within the framework of the corporate strategy Number ONE, there will be a few personnel changes in the management of the BMW Group’s Sales and Marketing Division, effective February 1, 2009.

Günther Seemann, formerly responsible for the Australian sales subsidiary, will take over from David Panton, who is retiring, as head of the sales region Asia, Oceania and South Africa. A new manager for the Australian sales subsidiary will be announced at a later date.

Philippe Dehennin will become president of the French sales subsidiary, taking over from Nicolas Wertans, who is leaving the company of his own accord.

Philipp von Sahr, former head of Sales Germany, will take over from Dehennin as president of the Belgium-Luxemburg sales subsidiary. Karsten Engel, previously in charge of after-sales and sales development channel, will assume responsibility for the reorganized German market—amongst the strongest within the BMW Group. A new head of after-sales and sales development channel will be announced at a later date.

Erich Papke, manager of BMW Poland, will assume responsibility for BMW Switzerland from Dölf Carl, who left the company in December 2008. A successor to Papke for the Polish market will be announced at a later date.
