INGOLSTADT, Germany – January 20, 2009: Although the 69th Hahnenkamm Race features a number of changes, there is one thing that has remained the same: the traditional Audi Night at the hotel “Zur Tenne.” The exclusive event next Friday evening is one of the social highlights of the ski weekend. When celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, business and society gather during the ski weekend a highly praised newcomer from the house of Audi is on the guest list as well: the Audi Q5. In addition, the new model – together with the Audi Q7 and Audi A8L – is part of the shuttle fleet for Audi’s guests during the Hahnenkamm weekend.

Alongside the slopes, the Four Rings are featured in prominent locations as well. For the first time, the athletes will be starting to Super-G, Downhill and Slalom events from completely re-designed start houses boasting an architectural design that follows the progressive design language of the new Audi Car Dealerships. In mid-2008, the first of these “Audi terminals,” which impressively reflect the value of the brand, was opened in Munich.

The ski race, which is arguably the most famous one in the world, will feature another novelty: The Slalom has returned to the so-called Ganslernhang. A new Slalom stand in the finish area as well as a 50-square-meter projection screen ensures that all spectators have a complete overview. As usual, the event will kick off on Friday with the Super-G. On Saturday, the Downhill race on the famous “Streif” slope with its gradient amounting to as much as 85 percent will follow, while the Slalom run on Sunday will conclude the competition.

Audi has been the main sponsor at the Hahnenkamm since 2001 and this year marks the seventh one in which the brand accompanies the Audi FIS Ski World Cup by giving its name to the event. These are but two elements of Audi’s equally extensive and successful involvement in international winter sports. In addition, AUDI AG has been supporting the German Ski Association (DSV) for over two decades and is partner to the alpine national teams from Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, France, Liechtenstein and Italy as well as the athletes from Austria and the United States.
