Sponsorship To Appear On No. 40 Camping World Truck Series Entry for Six Races In 2009
MOORESVILLE, North Carolina January 15, 2009: Key Motorsports announced today that Westerman Companies will return as a sponsor in 2009. Westerman Companies will serve as primary sponsor of the No. 40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet for at least six NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races this season.
The Ohio-based company, which performs a variety of design, engineering, manufacturing, and machining services for the oil, nuclear, and marine industries, will be entering its third consecutive season as a sponsor of the Key Motorsports Chevy Silverado, having first come on board in 2007.
The green and white Westerman paint scheme will appear on track for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events scheduled at Martinsville Speedway (March 28, October 24), Kentucky Speedway (July 18), O'Reilly Raceway Park (July 24), Bristol Motor Speedway (August 19), and Gateway International Raceway (September 12).
"Westerman Companies is happy to be extending our relationship with Key Motorsports," stated Westerman Companies President and CEO Terry McGhee. "Our Camping World Truck Series involvement has been immensely popular and valuable, and we are looking forward to another exciting season on the No. 40 truck."
Key Motorsports has also confirmed that it will once again compete in the full 25 race season in the Camping World Truck Series. It was announced earlier this week that the team would compete full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the first time, in an effort led by Crew Chief Tommy Morgan.
The team's No. 40 truck finished 26th in the 2008 NCWTS owner point standings, with 5 top-20 finishes, 2 top-15 finishes, and 1 top-10 finish. During the 2008 season the team rotated between five drivers: Chad Chaffin, Mike Bliss, Jeff Green, Paul Poulter, and Morgan Shepherd.
Truck Series veteran Lance Hooper will return as Crew Chief in 2009. Driver and additional sponsorship information is forthcoming and will be announced in the coming weeks.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season kicks off on Friday, February 13th with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway.
