Delphi Extends Glow Plug Range

WARWICK – January 15, 2009: Delphi, a leading global diesel specialist, has announced an expansion of its diesel aftermarket glow plug range to provide parts that meet the increasing demand for diesel components across the aftermarket.

The expanded Delphi Diesel Aftermarket glow plug range includes eight additional references, with coverage for the Citroën Berlingo and C3, Peugeot 207 and 307 1.6HDI; Mazda 626 Mk V and 323 F/P Mk VI; Hyundai H1 Box; Kia Sorento; Fiat Croma, Doblo, Stilo and Ducato; Ssangyong Rexton, Rodius and Kyron; Chrysler 300 C; and Mercedes Benz A, B, C, E, M and R Class.

In addition to the glow plug range extension, three new glow plug ‘controllers’ are also being introduced. These new applications cover the Mercedes Benz 300D, TD and GD; Volkswagen Passat, Golf and Jetta; and Peugeot 605 TD.

Modern diesel engines use glow plugs for more than just engine starting. Glow plugs are also used to optimise the combustion process, which is an important element in the substantial performance gains and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions that modern diesel-engine vehicles have achieved.

To ensure that the growing number of global diesel vehicles continue to meet stringent emission standards and don’t suffer from a lack of engine performance during their lifecycle, it is important that the glow plugs are regularly replaced, even if they do not show obvious signs of wear.
