WASHINGTON, January 14, 2009: Electric drive vehicles are in the spotlight at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the trade association accelerating battery, hybrid, plug-in, and fuel cell electric drive technologies and infrastructure, commends its members and others on the diverse and exciting electric drive vehicles they are unveiling at the show.
"Electric drive has truly hit its stride," says EDTA President Brian Wynne. "Our manufacturers are showing vehicles that can decrease our dependence on oil, improve the environment, and create a green vehicle workforce. And consumers are clearly sharing the industry's enthusiasm for the 21st century transportation that is on display here."
