Manheim Wins Double Contracts For Peugeot And Citroen

AUTO CENTRAL – January 14, 2009: Both Peugeot and Citroen have awarded two major three-year contracts to Manheim Auctions and Manheim DeFleet Services.

The first contract has been awarded to Manheim Auctions for the remarketing of 6,000 cars and light commercial vehicles per year. The programme launches with an initial auction schedule with Peugeot cars being offered at Manheim’s auction centres at Bristol and Leeds and Citroen cars at Leeds. Peugeot light commercial vehicles will be sold at Manheim Auctions, Gloucester. The auction schedule is then likely to be extended to other Manheim auction centres, after the initial launch programme.

The second contract awarded to Manheim DeFleet Services is for the inspection, collection, storage, reconditioning and dealer delivery of 23,000 vehicles on behalf of Peugeot Contract Hire and Citroen Contract Hire. A proportion of these vehicles will be delivered directly into auction centres throughout the UK to support the Peugeot and Citroen national auction programmes. The remainder will go to a central storage and reconditioning compound for preparation in readiness for electronic sale to the Peugeot and Citroen dealer networks. Manheim DeFleet Services will be responsible for the successful operation of this logistics site and the onward delivery once a vehicle has been purchased by a Peugeot or Citroen dealer.
