TOPEKA, Kan. December 16, 2008: Tune into SPEED on Wednesday, Dec. 17, to catch more exciting TV coverage of the 45th SCCA® National Championship Runoffs®. This week’s programming highlights D Sports Racing and Showroom Stock C.

Beginning at noon (EST), defending DSR Champion J.R. Osborne leads the field to the green flag in his No. 1 Rilltech/Goodyear/Red line Stohr WF-1/Suzuki, but the starter doesn’t like what he sees, forcing the group to circle Heartland Park Topeka one more time. The second time is the charm as J.R. Osborne, Mark Jaremko and Tom Bootz go three-wide into Turn One! As the pack exits Turn One, Osborne maintains the lead and now the No. 2 GDRE Dauntless/ WRD/Goodyear Stohr WF-1/2007 GDRE of Jaremko and the No. 36 Bootz Industries Stohr WF-1/Suzuki of Bootz are scrapping for second. Jaremko manages to wrestle the spot away from Bootz, but Osborne has already built a considerable distance between himself and second-place. Does four-time DSR National Champion Jaremko have enough time to stop Osborne from collecting his second gold medal in-a-row? Catch the finish on SPEED.

Next, at 1 p.m. (EST), SSC polesitter Joe McClughan is looking for a Chicago Region SCCA Triple Crown® award in his No. 36 Mazdaspeed/Hoosier Tires/MRE MAZDA3. To earn it, he’ll have to endure a race-long battle with the No. 81 RaceLabz.com/Hankook/RaceShopper Honda Civic Si of Joel Lipperini. McClughan holds the lead at the start, but can only fend off Lipperini until lap three. In the ensuing laps, McClughan keeps his MAZDA3 glued to the Civic’s bumper, pressuring him for the next dozen laps. McClughan finally makes his move on lap 15, but Lipperini attempts to retake the lead in the next corner. Can he get it done? Tune into SPEED to find out.
