GM Holden Announces First Energy and Environment Director

MELBOURNE, Australia – December 15, 2008: GM Holden today announced the appointment of Richard Marshall as the first GM Holden Director – Energy and Environment, effective 12 January 2009.

In this new role, Marshall will be responsible for leading development and driving the implementation of GM Holden’s energy diversity strategy.

The role will be an important internal and external interface within Holden locally, other areas of GM regionally and globally and external stakeholders such as peak bodies, government departments and universities. The role also includes responsibility for GM Premium Brands.

Recognising the importance of the role, Marshall will report to GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Reuss.

Mr Reuss said today the new role was reflective of GM Holden’s commitment in the energy and environment area.

“GM Holden is working on more alternative technologies and alternative fuels than any other time in its history, to produce a range of vehicles that are practical, affordable and reduce our carbon footprint “ Mr Reuss said.

“I welcome Richard to this critically important role. His leadership, passion and expertise will help GM Holden expand its EcoLine range of vehicles, as well as the infrastructure needed to support them.”

Marshall was previously Director – Innovation Engineering. Within this role, he has been active in the energy and environment and advanced technology areas. Having worked at GM Holden for 20 years, he also brings a wealth of Holden knowledge to the role. Marshall has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from Deakin University.
