INGOLSTADT, Germany – December 15, 2008: Leading by excellence: In a ceremony at the Design Center Ingolstadt, AUDI AG honored its best apprentices and students from the Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm locations today. They included the best in their class of the occupational training and dual studies in the StEP and BA programs. Dr. Werner Widuckel, AUDI AG Board Member for Human Resources, Dieter Omert, Head of Training at AUDI AG, and Peter Mosch, Chairman of the General Works Council of AUDI AG, were on hand to congratulate the 30 top students.

“You have been outstanding performers, and you can be proud of your achievements,” Widuckel commended them and emphasized: “Highly qualified new talent is indispensable for our company. You are our future employees.” The human resources chief stressed that learning is by no means complete by the end of the training program: “Lifelong learning is a basic requirement for your successful professional development.” In addition to good scholastic and job performance, key factors in the selection of today’s young honorees also included social skills, commitment, and motivation.

AUDI AG pays the tuition fees for both educational programs. “As a result, social class differences are eliminated as a criterion for access to education,” Widuckel noted.

Peter Mosch, Chairman of the General Works Council, praised the graduates’ outstanding commitment: “These excellent results give you a head start.” He wished the 27 apprentice graduates and the three student graduates every success in their further career.

Dieter Omert also praised the young people’s dedication: “You have shown total commitment in your training. Now you can pursue many avenues into the working world.” He added that Audi will support them in the further development of their competencies. The year’s best graduates of AUDI AG will also be enrolled in the “Bestenförderung” (Top Achievers’ Support) program. This will provide them with further opportunities at Audi through selective personnel development activities.
