Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars: “Guenther Fleig has made crucial contributions to Daimler’s excellent position in all aspects of human resources policy. In addition to the globalization of our effective human resources function as part of Daimler’s worldwide networking, he also succeeded in significantly improving the international competitiveness of the jobs at our German sites.

Guenther Fleig’s involvement in the employers’ federations as vice president of the BDA (Germany´s national employers´ federation) and member of the executive committees of two employers’ federations (Gesamtmetall and Suedwestmetall) has included contributions to the further development of wage tariffs and of education and training policy. In many often difficult negotiating situations, he demonstrated his skills as a chief negotiator who always sought to achieve a constructive result in the interests of the company and its workforce.

Other activities in the business community, at universities and in community organizations are evidence of his responsible approach to the positive development of the country as a whole.”
