BOLOGNA, Italy - December 5, 2008: DR Motor, an Italian company engaged in the assembly and distribution of Chinese cars showed its new DR1 at the Bologna Motor Show.

DR1 is a rebadged version of the new Chery Faira NN which was unveiled earlier this year at Auto China 2008, the Beijing Motor Show.

Earlier DR Motor assembled some Chery Tiggo SUVs from Chinese kits. Chery and DR Motor recently signed an agreement, which will see the Chinese company making further inroads into Europe.

DR1 is powered by Chery's self-developed 1.3-liter ACTECO engine, which can run on petrol (83 hp) or LPG (78 hp). Max. speed is 156 km/h. Equipment includes dual airbags, ABS, electronic immobilizer, electric mirrors, manual air-con, rear parking sensors, CD-player.

Sales of the DR1 will commence in 2009. There's no official word on pricing, though Italian media suggest a price tag of about EUR 7000.
