Runners Gear Up For Half Marathon and 5-Mile Run/Walk Benefiting Victory Junction

What: Victory Junction is gearing up for runners and walkers across the nation to make a difference in the lives of children. Presented by Sprint, Victory Junction has again teamed up with Runner's World Columnist and John Bingham Racing founder John "The Penguin" Bingham to host the Run To Victory Half Marathon and Five Mile Run/Walk on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008.

The run will begin in Randleman (N.C.) and finish at Victory Junction with all proceeds of the event benefitting the camp. Last year's event featured 825 runners and walkers and raised more than $125,000.

Victory Junction is a year-round camping facility that enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment. As a not-for-profit organization, the camp operates solely through the support of generous donors to provide this experience free of charge to children and families.

When: Sunday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. ET. The run begins at 10 a.m. with a worship service preceding it at 9 a.m. ET.
