Lighting Trends In Black For The Volkswagen Tiguan

LIPPSTADT/ESSEN, December 1, 2008: The exterior lighting is the characteristic design element of modern vehicles, and is particularly suitable as a means of customising them. For the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hella can now supply both black Upgrade headlights and combination rearlights with a black-chrome design, as well as a black auxiliary stop light for retrofitting.

The Upgrade headlights particularly emphasise the unusual character of the successful SUV. The halogen twin headlights fit perfectly into the vehicle front-end, giving the Tiguan a sporty, dynamic appearance. In terms of lighting, their wide, very bright illumination in front of the vehicle and good range make them a convincing choice. If required, when the road is clear, the high beam turns night into day. The trendy black appearance is achieved through the darkening of headlight zones not relevant to lighting. Full light output is available, of course.

The two-part Upgrade combination rearlight with the black-chrome design has a black housing and a chrome-coloured finisher. This frames the combined taillight/stop light surrounding the indicator, upgrading the appearance of the vehicle rear very impressively. As a linking element, the chrome frame look is continued in the light part on the tailgate. The transparent cover lens provides a clear view of the lighting technology behind it.

In addition, Hella is offering an Upgrade auxiliary stop light with a black design. This is integrated almost invisibly in the roof-edge spoiler of the tailgate and only strikingly appears when the brake is applied. With dark-coloured vehicles, the Upgrade exterior lighting in black appears to be an integral part of the bodywork, with the chrome elements emphasising the high perceived quality and striking appearance of the SUV. With light-coloured vehicles, the strong light-dark contrast is a real eye-catcher.

The black Upgrade headlights, the combination rearlights and the auxiliary stop light from Hella for the Volkswagen Tiguan have ECE type approval and do not need to be approved separately by technical test centres. Easily comprehensible installation instructions are included in the scope of supply. Installation in a specialist garage is still recommended, however. The headlights and the stop light are already available on the automotive aftermarket. The combination rearlights will be available from March 2009.
