Andretti to Start 16th at Chengdu in USA A1GP Entry

Chengdu, China, November 8, 2008: Andretti Green Racing driver Marco Andretti turned a best-lap speed of 1:17.437 seconds to earn the 16th starting position at the Chengdu International Circuit. Italy's entry was involved in an accident that caused a lengthy cleanup and forced the second segment of the sprint race qualifying to be canceled, which did not allow Andretti an attempt to better his qualifying speed. The sprint race begins at 10 p.m. (EDT) Saturday night with the feature race starting Sunday morning at 2 a.m. (EDT).

Marco Andretti, Andretti Green Racing, Team USA: "I'm disappointed. Our first segment wasn't great, and with the second segment being cancelled we didn't get the chance to better our time for the sprint race. Our third segment of qualifying (for the feature race) was decent and we were confident our last attempt would have been faster. We had fresh tires and with my out lap I was in a position to put up a very quick time when the red flag came out. We had to put extra laps on the tires, and you can't do much on old tires. It's disappointing, when we had the speed we didn't have the luck or the track time. We have our work cut out for us tomorrow."
