TOPEKA, Kan. October 27, 2008: Check your local cable and satellite listings this week, as Round Seven of the 2008 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup from Thunderbolt Raceway begins airing this week.

For the penultimate round of 2008, the series heads to the newly constructed New Jersey Motorsports Park to race on the 2.17-mile Thunderbolt Raceway. A new course brings a first-time polesitter: Robert Huffmaster in the No. 27 Team MER/Huffmaster Companies MX-5. As the field takes the course for its 45-minute race, the course conditions, damp with a dry racing line, seem to favor Huffmaster who won in the rain at Mosport and earned his 2007 SCCA Touring 3 Championship on a wet, but drying track.

Sure enough, when the green flag waves, Huffmaster holds the lead with his teammate and point leader Eric Foss in tow, driving the No. 28 Team MER/Autobarn Mazda MX-5. The pair attempt to hold off a charging Brad Rampelberg in the No. 14 Hooverspeed/Patron Tequila MX-5, but to no avail, as the two-time race winner takes over the lead on lap six.

As time ticks away, Huffmaster continually presses Rampelberg for the lead, hungry for his second MX-5 Cup victory, but Rampelberg is thinking about the Championship and needs a win in order to challenge Foss for the MX-5 Title. Will Huffmaster be able to make the pass in time or can Rampelberg hold him off for win number three? Check your local listings or www.mx-5cup.com to find out when to tune in and find out.
