TOPEKA, Kan. October 27, 2008 – D Sports Racing driver Dave Knaack, of Neenah, Wis., won the lottery-style drawing for a brand new trailer courtesy of Pace American®, the Official Trailer of SCCA. Knaack was one of 50 SCCA drivers eligible for the Pace Lap Challenge drawing held Saturday, Oct. 11, at the National Championship Runoffs®.
A total of 26 Soloists and 24 Club Racing drivers became eligible for the drawing by turning their fastest three runs at a given Tire Rack® SCCA National Solo event or fastest three Runoffs qualifying laps with the least amount of variance in their class. The names were written on ping-pong balls, mixed in a hopper and Knaack’s name came out first, awarding him the trailer valued at more than $14,000.
“Pace American is proud of our long-time support and participation in SCCA racing,” Pace American Marketing Manager Peter Calhoun said. “As part of that support, for the second year in-a-row an SCCA member will be towing a brand new Pace Pursuit® Monza trailer in 2009. Congratulations to DSR driver Dave Knaack for his consistent performance in qualifying, which resulted in winning this year’s Pace Lap Challenge.”
“Obviously, a big thank you to SCCA and Pace trailers,” Knaack said. “Ironically, I recently purchased a new Pace trailer. I chose Pace at that time because of the quality, resale value, track-side service and because they support racers with a program like this. My reasoning could not have been more correct. After my poor showing in the race with a first lap spin, winning the trailer certainly made my day and the long ride home was much more enjoyable.”
