Skoda Voted Website Of The Year 2008

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – October 20, 2008: Škoda’s UK consumer website was voted ‘Motor Manufacturer Website of the Year’ at the Auto Trader Click Awards 2008. The awards ceremony, held at London’s Park Lane Hotel on 16th October 2008, celebrated best practice in website usability amongst the motor industry.

Voted for by over 600 motorists who had just bought or were thinking about buying a new or used car, the users analysed more than 60 of the UK’s top motor manufacturer, dealer group and car supermarket websites.

Škoda was praised for its bright, fun and easy to use design and user’s found the website easy to navigate and enjoyable to use, attributing a quirkiness and sense of humour to its obvious attraction. The use of colour and interactive content, together with moving car graphics made the site entertaining and a pleasure to use. Škoda has provided an excellent online experience for which they can be justifiably proud.”

As well as winning the top gong, Škoda was also highly commended in the ‘Best Motor Manufacturer Home Page’ and ‘Best Motor Manufacturer for Purchase Intent’ categories.

Each website was judged on a range of criteria, measuring the quality of the customer service online; website design; the use of animation and engagement with the customer; ease of navigation; and the search tools and features available. Škoda’s colourful website therefore met high standards in each of these categories in order to have earned such an award.

We wanted to build a website that fully embodies our brand position of the ‘Manufacturer of Happy Drivers’ and this award only goes to prove that we have succeeded in creating an enjoyable and informative site for potential purchasers to visit.”

TV presenter Andrea McLean presented Škoda UK’s Direct Marketing Communications Manager Carla Bacchio with the award at a presentation lunch held at London’s Park Lane Hotel on 16th October 2008.
