Western Automotive Journalists Host 2nd Annual Future Fuel and Propulsion Systems Symposium with Special Guests - VIDEO ENHANCED

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - October 15, 2008: America's second largest automotive journalists organization, Western Automotive Journalists, will stage their Future Fuels and Propulsion Systems Symposium this evening with two extra-special program features:

3PM: Pit stop demo of the Corvette and Aston Martin ALMS race crews and their biofuel-powered vehicles. Ride and drive vehicles available include two European diesels – a 50 mpg Honda CRV and a 32 mpg BMW 7 Series, a Ford Escape plug-in Hybrid, a Toyota factory plug-in hybrid, a Ford Focus fuel cell vehicle, a Calcars plug-in hybrid that will demonstrate vehicle-to-grid capability, a Dodge Durango 2-mode hybrid and a Nissan Altima hybrid.

5:30PM: Our distinguished panel of speakers will begin, including Ed Kjaer of Southern California Edison who will report on Ford’s plug-in hybrid Escape program, Paul Drayson, Drayson Barwell Racing, Minister of Science of the UK and Jana Hartline, Toyota's Environmental Communications Manager who will discuss Toyota’s factory plug-in hybrid project and where the world leader in hybrids is going with future products.

7:00PM: Edwin Black, author of "The Plan" and "Internal Combustion" discusses our dangerous dependency on foreign oil and his plan for rescuing America in the event of a catastrophic oil interruption.
