Full Steam Ahead For Superb Launch
MILTON KEYNES - Over 100 Škoda customers turned out in force as Winchester Motor Company and Garland Motors recently teamed up to launch the brand New Škoda Superb.
The flagship car was unveiled in style at the Watercress Line steam railway in Alresford where attendees could test drive the New Superb and enjoy a free ride on the railway courtesy of the two retailers.
Visitors, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Rushmoor, enjoyed a buffet in one of the railway’s Pullman carriages. To complete the event’s nostalgic theme, Winchester and Garland showcased a vintage Škoda 422 alongside the company’s latest model.
Peter Davidson, General Manager at Garland Motors, comments: “It was a great day where our customers and business partners came to see the eagerly anticipated New Superb in the flesh and had the opportunity to road test the car.
“Our theme was ‘Old Technology meets New Technology’ which went down really well with everyone, especially the buffet and rides on the steam train. We placed two retail orders on the day and are anticipating a fleet order of six Superbs as a result.”
The new Superb effortlessly combines cavernous interior space with a striking new design and the latest technology including the unique ‘Twindoor’ function. Twindoor allows the user to have both a hatch and saloon style boot at the touch of a button.
A total of six engines will eventually be available within the full range: three petrol and three diesel including the Greenline model delivering low CO2 emissions and greater fuel efficiency. Customers have the choice of three trim levels: entry level S, mid range SE and top of the range Elegance, with the range starting from £15,490 on the road.
