Kia Motors America Announces September 2008 Sales

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2008 - Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced September sales of 17,383 units with year-to-date sales of 228,088 units. Passenger cars are up 17.2 percent year to date, with Rondo, Kia's value-laden CUV, posting a 3-percent increase over the same month last year and a 38.4-percent increase year to date.

Optima and Rio also posted year-to-date increases of 31.5 and 21.7 percent respectively with 40,778 and 30,329 units sold.

"Considering the current economic climate we are pleased to see consumers recognizing and appreciating our passenger cars for the value, safety and fuel efficiency they bring to the market," said Tom Loveless, vice president of sales, KMA.
