New Plant Manager at Audi in Neckarsulm

INGOLSTADT/NECKARSULM – September 30, 2008: The current plant manager at Audi’s Neckarsulm site, Jürgen Lunemann (56), will resign for personal reasons at the end of this year. Albrecht Reimold (47) will take over as Plant Manager on January 1, 2009. Mr. Reimold began his career in 1987 as a trainee at Audi in Neckarsulm, where he has executed various managerial tasks in Production for more than two decades. He was, for example, head of Body Shop for the Audi A8 and head of the A2 Production Segment. He is currently in charge of Production Planning for models in the C and D series (Audi A6 and A8) and for the Audi R8. In addition, he is responsible for Plant Planning in Neckarsulm and planning the global CKD activities, especially for China and India.

“As a key leader at Audi, Albrecht Reimold has made considerable contributions for more than two decades to the growth of the Neckarsulm plant, our largest site after Ingolstadt. He is the right man to oversee the highly efficient operations at this plant, which will be further expanded to facilitate the production of additional models,” says Frank Dreves, Member of the Board of Management for Production at AUDI AG.

Albrecht Reimold is not only a trained toolmaker, but also a Graduate Production Engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) and welding-technology engineer. He was born in Öhringen, Germany in 1961. He is married and has four children.

Mr. Dreves also thanked Jürgen Lunemann, who has been managing the Neckarsulm plant since April 2004. “Jürgen Lunemann has done an excellent job. Among other achievements, he was the chief architect in establishing the production turntable concept between Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, which has greatly benefitted the latter site. On behalf of the entire Board of Management, I wish Jürgen Lunemann all the best for the future.”

Progress and modernization have been considerable at Audi’s Neckarsulm site since Jürgen Lunemann became plant manager. Major projects include the construction of the engine testing center, the toolmaker's shop, a new press shop and the new production lines for the Audi R8 sports car. The Audi Forum Neckarsulm has also opened since Mr. Lunemann took the helm. In addition to his duties at the plant, Mr. Lunemann participates in numerous public committees and associations. Since July 2004, for example, he has been a member of the plenary assembly of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Heilbronn, Germany. Furthermore, he sits on the advisory board of the Pro Region initiative. Mr. Lunemann deserves our gratitude for representing the automotive industry, especially for his role in creating a trimodal freight terminal near Audi’s plant in Neckarsulm.
