SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – September 29, 2008: Citroën keeps on winning! The company has now won the prestigious GreenFleet LCV Manufacturer of the Year award – just days after the Citroën Nemo van became International Van of the Year 2009.
Martin Freedman, GreenFleet magazine publisher comments, “The GreenFleet LCV Manufacturer of the Year award recognises Citroën’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its LCVs. The company’s LCV product upgrade programme offers major environmental benefits.”
Robert Handyside, Citroën’s commercial vehicle operations manager, comments, “We are delighted to have won the GreenFleet LCV Manufacturer of the Year award. The current Citroën LCV range - the most technically advanced and comprehensive of that offered by any manufacturer - delivers major environmental benefits. Citroën further enhances its LCV’s green credentials with the standard fitment of Trafficmaster Smartnav with Dynamic Traffic Management, which is widely recognised as playing a key role in delivering fuel saving and other environmental and operational efficiency gains.”
The GreenFleet LCV Manufacturer of the Year award takes into account Citroën’s ongoing programme to improve the environmental credentials of its LCV range. Citroën’s HDi diesel engines are widely recognised as being leaders in the delivery of fuel-efficient, low emissions performance. Citroën is also expanding the availability of clean, efficient, Powershift Band 4, London Congestion Charge-exempt, Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG) vans. Now Dual Fuel Berlingo First and Nemo vans are available in Citroën’s Ready to Run programme at competitive prices - with Dual Fuel new Berlingo vans available in the very near future.
In addition Citroën has extended the number of LCV models fitted with Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation with Dynamic Traffic Management, with virtually every new Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel van fitted as standard with this equipment. Dynamic Traffic Management constantly re-evaluates the optimum routing and automatically redirects the driver as necessary, should traffic conditions change. Thus, the Trafficmaster-equipped Citroën van gets from A to B as efficiently as possible, saving time and fuel and minimising driver stress. Trafficmaster’s environmental role was also recognised in the Greenfleet awards, with its success as GreenFleet IT Product of the Year.
Citroën has also recently introduced its new LCV Airdream programme, reflecting the company’s pro-active approach to minimising the environmental impact of its LCVs. Customers can be assured that all Citroën LCVs carrying the Airdream logo meet the following demanding environmental criteria:
In Citroën’s LCV range the following vehicles immediately merit the Airdream signature:

Citroën was also one of the first manufacturers to announce that its vehicles could run on up to 30% bio diesel without modification.
