WOLFSBURG – September 16, 2008: Sustained high service quality and customer satisfaction are the central themes of Volkswagen’s presence at the Automechanika 2008, the leading international trade fair for the automotive industry held between 16 and 21 September in Frankfurt/Main. Volkswagen Service is presenting a total of 35 subjects and concepts in Exhibition Hall 3.1. These not only include a large number of new developments and trends for services and technical repairs, but also cover all aspects of the accessories and Genuine Parts business. "As the market leader, we are focusing throughout all these on excellent service quality and top customer satisfaction. In a market environment that is becoming tougher, this is more important than ever for our competitiveness and for each individual service partner", says Head of Volkswagen Service, Dietmar Hildebrandt.

Europe’s largest carmaker has placed Dialogue Reception at the centre of its Automechanika presentation. This is a tool to enhance technical competence and mutual trust in customer contact, reflecting Volkswagen’s message as the most innovative provider of after sales service in the industry. "Volkswagen Service stands for high efficiency and quality as well as sustainable success in the after sales business. This success begins with intensive communication between the dealership staff and their customers. Here is where Dialogue Reception plays a key role. It is a service tool that helps us to set a course for even more solid customer retention and growing sales potential. Dialogue Reception thus provides a concrete basis for a successful first repair", stresses Mr Hildebrandt.

In addition, Volkswagen will also be presenting technical innovations like the Vehicle ECG and V-Protector paint protection film at the Automechanika 2008. Both of these developments will receive the Automechanika Innovation Award at the opening of the trade fair. This decision was made in advance of the exhibition by a panel of experts.

Training will also be a high-profile subject. Volkswagen Service will exhibit new concepts plus training and education methods. Volkswagen will also present extensive information on its measures to preserve resources and the environment, such as the Exchange Parts Programme, its retrofit solutions for diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and the disposal concept for service workshops.

Volkswagen has received honours for its take-back and reuse programme for exchange parts and for its DPF retrofit solutions. As a result, the carmaker is listed along with 24 other companies in the Automechanika’s environmentally focused Green Directory. This green trade fair guide directs visitors to exhibitors who are presenting products, services and processes that are especially notable for low emissions and sustainability.
