LONDON – September 12, 2008: On Sunday 7th September, London’s Regent Street was transformed into a festival themed around all things quintessentially British.

Thousands of people descended into the capital to enjoy a day of different shopping experiences as well as an array of displays on the street.

Taking pride of place amongst these displays was LTI Vehicles’ world famous London Taxi. Exhibited alongside an Austin 6 taxi supplied by the Vintage Taxi Association, both taxis attracted thousands of UK visitors and international tourists keen to stand alongside and have their photographs taken with a true iconic symbol of London.

A tombola with black cab merchandise up for grabs also raised significant funds for LTI Vehicles’ chosen charities The Magical Taxi Tour and The London Taxi Fund for Underprivileged Children.

Rob Laidler, Sales Director at LTI Vehicles, said: “The London Taxi is the perfect icon for when activities like these take place. We were delighted to exhibit our taxi and to welcome people from all over the world.

“We were also pleased to provide a London Taxi for the short film titled ‘Regent Street’, which was shown at the Apple store on the day and at other international festivals thereafter.”

Annie Walker, Director at Regent Street Association Ltd, said: “The London Taxi is a fantastic representation of Britain and is recognised worldwide. We were delighted to have a vintage taxi and the latest TX4 model on display for everyone to see.”

Other exhibits at the Regent Street Festival included a food area offering many diverse British foods, old fashioned fairground attractions, a London Routemaster bus, bagpipers, a British Legion Band, Morris Men and human statues.
