GAYDON – September 3, 2008: Do you have the mental and physical strength to enter the ultimate global race? If so, there is still time to apply for the free-to-enter Land Rover G4 Challenge - the adventure of a lifetime that combines off-road driving with kayaking, mountain biking, abseiling, climbing and orienteering across some of the most remote and extreme terrains in the world.

Anyone interested in representing the UK has until 30 September 2008 to put themselves forward for National Selections in November 2008 where two men and two women will be chosen to progress to the International Selections, which take place early next year. The successful two-strong British team (made up of the UK's best male and best female competitors) who make it through will then battle against teams from 17 other countries over the gruelling three-week Challenge Finals in one of the most sparsely populated countries on the planet – Mongolia. A blend of terrain offering arid steppes, mountains and the extreme climate of one of the world's largest deserts, the Gobi, makes Mongolia the ultimate test.

Rugby World Cup winner Josh Lewsey, a supporter of the Land Rover G4 Challenge, said: "If you are a thrill seeker like me and you love testing yourself, both mentally and physically, you need look no further than the Land Rover G4 Challenge. But remember, you don't have long to enter, so take the plunge and begin your journey on what could be the adventure of a lifetime."

The 2008/09 Land Rover G4 Challenge programme is run in support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. This partnership aims to generate in excess of £1m over the course of the next two challenges. The winning team will receive a Land Rover to donate to their National Society.

John Edwards, managing director, Land Rover UK said: "Mongolia is a spectacular country which will enable us to create a truly extraordinary Finals event in 2009. Our team on the ground have been working hard to find routes that will push our vehicles and the competitors to their limits. If you have a spirit of adventure and think you're tough enough, then log on to www.landroverG4challenge.com as soon as possible!"
