AGR NOTES - QUALIFYING NOTES

Danica Patrick, #7 Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone "I was really hoping to get the Motorola car into the Firestone Fast Six today, but we lost a little time during the second run. We are just a little off the lead pack and hopefully we can figure out that small piece that we are missing by the time the race starts tomorrow. But we were able to get into the fast 12 these past two weekends, so we are definitely headed in the right direction on the road courses."

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone "This track is so particular that if you make one wrong change, you can lose a full second. The Team 7-Eleven car was close to making it but I didn't know what else to do. We made a change and it went the wrong way and of course we missed the Firestone Fast Six for only the second time. It's definitely disappointing."

Marco Andretti, #26 Meijer Dallara/Honda/Firestone "I was a bit disappointed with qualifying but, for what it's worth, this is as close as we have been. Yesterday wasn't very productive because we tried to adapt my driving style to that of Danica's and Tony's because they were quick. I just wasn't able to do that and it cost us the entire day. Today we tried to develop a car that worked for me, and we improved the Meijer car, but came up a bit short of the second qualifying session."

Hideki Mutoh, #27 Formula Dream Dallara/Honda/Firestone "I feel sorry for the Formula Dream team since I made a mistake on the last lap of the qualifying session. I was trying to push myself to set a better time. The car is much better than yesterday and I am pretty sure I could have stayed in the top five in my group. Hopefully I will be able to improve my position and finish somewhere closer to the front."

Franck Montagny, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura: "I'm very happy for the XM Acura team. It's a strong team with good drivers and everybody works very hard. This feels good to claim the top spot. I felt very confident coming into the race that we could have a good result. I'm quite happy."

James Rossiter, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura: "We put ourselves in the strongest position possible for the end of the race by making the driver change when we did. Franck did a great job in the car and the XM team did a great job on the strategy. It was a very challenging weekend. I only had 20 minutes of dry running before I started the race, so I really didn't know the track very well. But, even last night, Franck and I were looking at maps to learn the circuit and trying to improve ourselves. The team gave us a great car and we just did the best we could."

Michael Andretti, co-owner, Andretti Green Racing: "This feels really good. With everything that has gone on with this team over the course of the year, I'm just so happy that we were able to finally get this done. I'm so happy for every person that works on that team. They deserved this."
