Jochen Schumm to Assume Additional HR Duties at Volkswagen AG

WOLFSBURG/HANOVER, August 29, 2008 - Jochen Schumm (60) has been appointed Head of Human Resources Germany at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg with effect from September 1, 2008. He will retain his function as the member of the Board of Management for Human Resources (HR) at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand in Hanover.

Schumm joined Volkswagen in 1970. He headed the central HR and collective bargaining department of Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg from 1992 to 1994 before being appointed member of the SEAT Executive Committee with responsibility for HR. In 1997 he became Head of HR in Wolfsburg and was named chief negotiator of the Volkswagen AG collective bargaining commission. Jochen Schumm has been the member of the Board of Management for HR at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles since June 1, 2000. He will resume his duties as chief negotiator of the Volkswagen AG collective bargaining commission in his new post as Head of HR Germany.
