June Delaloye passed away in April 2007 and Mr. Delaloye decided to make this pledge to "The Drive for America's Car Museum" campaign in her honor. President & CEO of LeMay - America's Car Museum, David Madeira expressed his gratitude over such a meaningful donation. "Harry and June Delaloye typify a quiet generosity, supporting the Museum faithfully for many years, without seeking the lime light of recognition. Their kind notes and faithful support over the years have been a great encouragement to us. We regret that June will not be present when the Museum does open but are delighted that we will be able to honor them permanently in the facility".
The gift will provide for the naming of a Board Room in the new Museum, planned to open to the public in 2010. The permanent recognition will also serve in memory of Mrs. Delaloye.
About LeMay - America's Car Museum(r)
America's Car Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the LeMay Collection of automobiles and memorabilia, along with vehicles and artifacts it may acquire. The LeMay Collection was recognized in the Guinness Book of World records as the largest privately held car collection in the world. At its peak, the collection was in excess of 3,000 automobiles, motorcycles, trucks and other vehicles, plus more than 30,000 pieces of related 20th century Americana. Plans are under way to build a brand-new museum campus in Tacoma, WA to feature 1,000 cars and memorabilia.
