WOLFSBURG/HANOVER – August 19, 2008: Thomas Ulbrich (42) has been named Board of Management member for production at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles with effect from September 1, 2008. He takes over the production division from Dirk Grosse-Loheide (44), who remains Board of Management member for procurement and logistics. Grosse-Loheide also became responsible for production in 2007.

Thomas Ulbrich studied vehicle engineering and became head of logistics at FAW-VW in China in 1996. Two years later he assumed responsibility for assembly lines at the Wolfsburg plant before becoming head of plant logistics at Emden in 1999. He was named technical managing director of Auto 5000 in Wolfsburg in 2001, and was appointed speaker of the management board of Auto 5000 in January 2007. A decision on Ulbrich’s successor at Auto 5000 will be taken soon.
