The First KTM X-Bow Has Been Delivered
MATTIGHOFEN, Austria - 15 August: "The first vehicles will be delivered to the customers at the beginning of August"; this is what KTM-CEO Stefan Pierer promised at the presentation of KTM’s first car in Ascari, Spain. An ambitious plan, because this meant no more than two and a half years from the initial idea to the radical light-weight sportscar and its delivery to the customer.
Since then the lights at the newly-erected X-Bow production plant in Graz rarely went out – and at the beginning of August, on August 6th to be exact, the time had come: The first customer received his KTM X-Bow and Graz (again) made automotive history, by having the first Austrian car in 50 years rolling off the production line.
The first buyer from the "KTM country of origin" Upper Austria received his KTM X-Bow – from the "Dalara Edition", which is limited to 100 – with great delight and naturally drove it home himself. Florian Schluifer, the new Director of Marketing and Sales, was very happy to receive positive feedback from the premiere customer the following weekend: "He wrote to me that he had been on the road for the entire weekend and how much fun it was to drive this perfect car on Austria’s beautiful roads. Such reactions are the best compliment for me and of course the entire team at KTM Sportcar GmbH!"
Werner Wilhelm, CEO of KTM Sportcar GmbH, is thrilled alongside his colleagues: "We have achieved our big objective: the punctual delivery of our first vehicles. Last week we were able to deliver three X-Bows, this week nine. Production currently runs at two cars per day, so we are well on our way. This also applies to the batch approval, which we have already achieved. At the moment it’s going through all the official channels and we expect that in the next weeks we’ll be able to deliver with normal approval instead of single approval."
