SLOUGH – August 6, 2008: Integra Utility Services is now putting 11 new Citroën Relay 35 L3H2 160 vans into service. The new Relays are specified with the 3.0HDi 160hp engine to suit them for use with Integra’s external metering teams, an operation which involves towing 2.0 tonne gross plant trailers.

Dave Knowles, Integra Utility Services’ fleet manager, explains, “We have had some five years’ experience with Relays and have been very pleased with these vans. We believe that the latest Relay model with the 160hp HDi engine has the load carrying capacity and power to cope with the demanding requirements of our external metering teams. In addition, we are very pleased that these new Relays are fitted with Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation, which will further improve the efficiency of these vehicles.”

Integra’s Relay 35 L3H2 160 vans have been supplied by Citroën dealer Murley Citroën, Leamington Spa, and are being operated on Pendragon 30-month, with-maintenance, contract hire agreements. During their service life with Integra Utility Services the vans will cover up to 62,500 miles.

To suit the Relays for their work with Integra’s external metering teams, they are fully ply lined, have full bulkheads and are internally racked. To ensure that the vehicles are visible when working on busy roads the Relays also have roof-mounted beacons and high-visibility red and yellow reflective panels on the rear doors.

With a fleet of 85 Berlingos plus a large number of Dispatch and Relays, Midlands-based Integra Utility Services now has well over 100 Citroën vans in service.
