James Boyd, Vice Chair and Commissioner, California Energy Commission, talks about the evolution of statewide policies in terms of energy and what this means for the future of electric vehicles.
Boyd was appointed to the California Energy Commission on February 6, 2002, by Governor Gray Davis. Commissioner Boyd presides over the Energy Commission's Transportation Fuels Committee and serves on the Electricity and Natural Gas Committee. Prior to his appointment, Commissioner Boyd was Chief of Staff to the California Resources Agency. He served 15 years as the Chief Executive Officer of the California Air Resources Board He has been a government administrator for more than thirty years overseeing a variety of public health, environmental, natural resource, scientific, technical and administrative programs. A California native, Commissioner Boyd received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
