DUSSELDORF - July 29, 2008: At the Caravan-Salon 2008, which takes place from August 29 to September 7 in Düsseldorf, Hella is presenting exterior and interior lighting with economical yet powerful LEDs. At booth A.03 in hall 13, the lighting and electronics specialists are presenting, among other items, what is currently the most extensive range of retrofit universal daytime running lights with different designs. The rod-shaped LEDayLine is new. Five powerful LEDs emit their light indirectly from below into five individual reflectors which cast it forwards. The light, which is just 28 millimetres high and 220 millimetres wide, makes for a distinctive, unmistakable front-end design. In a 12-volt vehicle electric system, the LEDayLine manages with a power consumption of just 7 watts; additional consumption is therefore barely measurable. With an operating period of about 10,000 hours, LEDs last the life of a vehicle. No sooner has the LEDayLine been launched than it has been given an award for excellent design; in July 2008 it received the renowned "Caravanning design award: innovations for new mobility".

The combination rearlight "Caraluna Modular" is a complete new development with which the rear sections of motorhomes and caravans can be designed according to the vehicle manufacturer's ideas. One feature of the vertically mounted light is the fact that the reflectors are set up in a modular manner behind the lens. In addition, the arrangement of the plug-in modules for the different signal functions in the light can be adapted in a customer-specific way within the framework of the regulations. A further advantage: the optically-ineffective, decorative areas of the cover lens can be adapted to the vehicle manufacturer's desired colours. The "Caraluna Modular" will first be available with bulb technology, but, due to the modular and replaceable reflectors, can also be set up with LEDs as the light sources. Work on this is already in progress at Hella.

Further highlights at the Caravan-Salon 2008 are the 90-millimeter highlight-module series "Premium" and "Performance". In addition to xenon, Bi-Xenon, halogen and Bi-halogen modules, there is also the cornering light module "DynaView Evo 2" for safe negotiation of tight bends and optimum manoeuvring in dark parking spaces. Hella is also showing the extensive range of powerful, economical LED interior lights, as well as the retrofit rear view camera system RVS-1 for the safe manoeuvring of motorhomes and caravans with blind spots.
