Renault Europe Management Committee

PARIS, July 25, 2008: As of September 1st, 2008, the France Management Committee and the Europe Management Committee will be combined into a single committee called the Europe Management Committee.

Patrick Pélata, Executive Vice President and member of the Group Executive Committee is appointed Leader of the Europe Management Committee.

At the same time, Philippe Klein is appointed Executive Vice President, Plan, Product Planning and Programs in place of Patrick Pélata. Philippe Klein is a member of the Group Executive Committee and reports to Carlos Ghosn.

Patrick Pélata, born on August 24, 1955, holds engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees and holds a PhD in socioeconomics from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He joined Renault in 1984 as a manager in bodyin- white assembly at the Flins plant. Between 1985 and 1998, he held a number of different positions in the engineering department. Patrick Pélata became Senior Vice President, Vehicle Engineering Development in 1998 and joined the Renault Management Committee. In 1999, following the creation of the Renault Nissan Alliance, he joined Nissan in Tokyo as Executive Vice President, Corporate and Product Planning, Design and Programs and was made a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of Nissan. In January 2003, he was appointed Chairman of the Management Committee of Nissan Europe. On July 1, 2005, Patrick Pelata was appointed Executive Vice President of Plan, Product Planning and Programs for the Renault group and joined the Group Executive Committee.

Philippe Klein, born on August 23, 1957, holds degrees from Ecole Supérieure de Physique- Chimie in Paris and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Pétroles et Moteurs. He joined Renault in 1981 in the Engine Development Department. He held a number of different positions in this department until 1992, when he became Executive Assistant to the Chairman. In 1994, he joined the Powertain Engineering Department as Head of Engine Development and Tuning, then in 1998, he joined the Vehicle Engineering Development Department as Vice President for Process Quality. From 1999 to 2003, following the creation of the Renault Nissan Alliance, he joined Nissan in Tokyo as Vice-President in charge of the CEO office. From 2003 to 2005, back at Renault, he was appointed Vice President, Industrial System Performance Department. Then in 2005, he became Senior Vice President, in charge of the CEO Office, and a member of the Renault Management Committee. In March 2007, he returned to Nissan in Tokyo as Senior Vice President, CEO /COO Office and Corporate Administration.
