Herr Fastest In Afternoon SPEED TC Practice At Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio – Chip Herr, of Lititz, Pa., set the fastest SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car practice time of the weekend Friday afternoon at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Jason Saini, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Montreal’s Kuno Wittmer completed the top three.

Driving the No. 97 Mazdaspeed/Tindol Motorsports MAZDA6 in the hot late afternoon sun, Herr turned the fastest lap of the day on his final tour of the session, a 1:34.489 (86.029 mph).

Saini, who led the morning practice in his No. 74 Mazdaspeed/Stoptech/Racinghart MAZDA6, was second fastest in the afternoon session and on the day, with a 1:34.788 (85.757 mph).

Wittmer was the first non-Mazda on the charts, turning a 1:34.795 (85.751 mph) in his No. 44 Acura/RealTime/Eibach/Red Line Acura TSX.

Michael Galati, of Olmsted, Ohio, and Charles Espenlaub completed the top five in their MAZDA6s.
