Warwick, UK. Diesel, Delphi’s fuel system cleaner, has been approved for use by the British Truck Racing Association (BTRA) for teams competing in the 2008 Delphi British Truck Racing Championship. The additive contains a number of key elements to enhance the fuel’s ability to clean, protect and restore, thereby improving engine efficiency and reducing emissions.

“In a racing truck, an efficient and clean fuel injection system can make all the difference between winning and losing,” says Dave Wadsworth, Delphi diesel aftermarket UK marketing manager. “especially now there is enforcement of the ‘No black smoke’ regulations.”

Delphi, one of the leading manufacturers of fuel injection technology, and Texaco developed Diesel+ to help protect injection systems from the damage caused by diesel of variable quality. Both commercial operators and private motorists can benefit from this additive, which cleans and protects the fuel system.

Diesel+ features seven elements to enhance injector life and effectiveness: detergent keeps the fuel injectors clean and free of blockages, lubricity agent prevents clogging, fuel stabiliser prevents acid-base reactions, demulsifier keeps the water and fuel separate, and there is also an anti-foaming agent, an anti-rust corrosion inhibitor and a Cetane enhancer, which improves the quality of the combustion.

Delphi’s sponsorship of British Truck Racing Championship offers the teams the opportunity to feel the benefits of the fuel additive for themselves.
