A Mercedes E-Class at a Price You Would Think it Fell Off the Back of a Truck

MELBOURNE – July 2, 2008: Mercedes-Benz Australia has today released the E 280 Sports Edition priced from $98,000, saving customers at least $11,000 over an equivalent vehicle.

The managing director of Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Mr Horst von Sanden said “The E-Class is the executive sedan and wagon of choice in its market segment and with the E 280 Sports Edition we have taken the opportunity to put together a package for our customers that offers outstanding value by incorporating the most popular options for a substantial saving in excess of $11,000.

“We have made metallic paint, electric sunroof, COMAND APS stereo system combining MP3 playback and satellite navigation, lowered sports suspension, dual chrome exhausts, 18 inch alloy wheels, double stitched sport seats, steering wheel shift paddles and a glass electric sunroof standard equipment on the Sport Edition.”

Available as the E 280 Saloon or Estate with the 170kW/300Nm 3.0 litre petrol V6 or as the E280 CDI Saloon or Estate with the acclaimed 140kW/440Nm 3.0 litre diesel. All E 280 Sports Editions feature the 7G-TRONIC seven speed automatic transmission.

The E 280 Sports Edition is now available at Mercedes-Benz dealers nationwide until 31 August, 2008 or until stock runs out.
