Harker's Consistency Reaches Final Round at Norwalk

Norwalk, OH - For the third time this season, Steve Harker and the OMS Graphics Top Alcohol Funny Car Team made it to another national event final round appearance and this time walked away with a runner-up finish at this past weekends NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals held in Norwalk, OH.
After Qualifying in the number two position with a 5.66et, Steve Harker faced off against the 15th qualifier Keeter Ray in the first round and defeated Ray’s 5.74et with another blistering 5.66et at 254mph pass.
Harker looked set to face off against Marty Nothstein in round two however Harker went into serve tire shake around the 330ft mark and clicked it off early but lady luck was with the OMS Graphics Team as Nothstein had left a red light at the starting line handing Harker the win.
Moving into the semi-finals, Harker paired up against rookie driver Nick Bastiao. Bastiao was first off the line but Harker had caught up by 60ft and never looked back taking the win with low elapse time for the event a 5.60et at 256mph pass.
In a re-match of the Chicago LODRS Division Three Event final round only two weeks prior, Harker faced off against Bobby Martin. In one of the closets races of the weekend, both Harker and Martin ran identical 5.62et’s however Martin took the win by 0.0102.

As always my team does a fantastic job and I couldn’t be happier to have made the final round and our performance here this weekend will certainly help to solidify a top spot for us in the National points chase.” Said Harker
The Harker Motorsport Team head home now for a long awaited break over the summer months. Their next event will be the LODRS Division Three Event at Bowling Green KY, August 22-24.
