KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY NCTS “BUILT FORD TOUGH MEDIA DAY” SLATED FOR JULY 1

Kentucky Speedway will hold its official media day for the July 18-19 ARCA RE/MAX Series “Kentucky 150” and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” events Tuesday, July 1, beginning at 11:30 a.m., in the Infield Media Center Blue Grass Hall. The day will feature an open ARCA RE/MAX Series test session and comments from Roush Fenway Racing NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers Erik Darnell, a May 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series 150-mile race winner at the track and Colin Braun. Braun ranks 14th in the current NCTS standings after an accident forced his 31st-place finish on The Milwaukee Mile June 20. Darnell ranks eighth in the current standings following his fourth-place Milwaukee finish. FORD RACING IS CONDUCTING AN NCTS “BUILT FORD TOUGH 225 PRESENTED BY THE GREATER CINCINNATI FORD DEALERS” HONORARY STARTER SWEEPSTAKES

Ford Racing is offering fans a chance to be the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” honorary starter July 19 at Kentucky Speedway through its “Wave the Flag Sweepstakes.” The winner and a guest will receive air transportation to Cincinnati, Ohio, two nights hotel accommodation, two race tickets, two hospitality suite tickets, a private VIP track tour and two Ford Racing apparel gift packages. BENSON BANGS OUT NCTS MILWAUKEE VICTORY

Bill Davis Racing driver Johnny Benson retained the series championship lead by registering his first win of the season by 2.530 seconds over Matt Crafton on The Milwaukee Mile June 20. Hendrick Motorsports driver Landon Cassill captured third, 2007 Kentucky Speedway ARCA RE/MAX Series race winner Erik Darnell pocketed a fourth-place finish while 2002 Kentucky Speedway NASCAR Nationwide Series race winner Todd Bodine locked down fifth. Benson generated his third straight top-three finish and fifth consecutive top-10 result. He has taken six top-five and eight top-10 finishes through 11 events this season. Crafton moved from fourth to third in the series standings with his fifth top-five and sixth top-10 performance of the year. He has reeled off top-five finishes in two of the last four races and top-10 finishes three times in that stretch. Cassill earned his best career series finish and now owns one top-five and two top-10 finishes through five starts this season. Darnell posted his second straight top-five finish and advanced from 10th to eighth in the championship standings. He has charted a win along with four top-five and four top-10 finishes this season. Bodine remained anchored in the second position in the series standings with his sixth top-five and seventh top-10 run of the season. He has delivered top-five finishes in three straight and four of the past five races. The series rolls to Memphis Motorsports Park for a June 28 race that will mark the series’ last stop before the July 19 Kentucky Speedway “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers.” Coverage of the 200-mile affair will begin on SPEED Channel at 8:30 p.m. Motor Racing Network (MRN) radio and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128 coverage will begin at 9:00 p.m. Travis Kvapil took a Roush Fenway Racing win at the facility in 2007 in a race Brad Keselowski started from the pole position. EDWARDS TAKES BUMP-AND-RUN MILWAUKEE NNS WIN

Defending NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and two-time Kentucky Speedway race winner Carl Edwards took his first win of the season by executing a classic “bump-and-run” maneuver in his No. 60 Roush Fenway Ford on the Milwaukee Mile June 21. The Roush Fenway Racing driver nudged the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of series championship leader Clint Bowyer from the race lead on Lap 226 of 250 and held point for the closing 25 race laps. Edwards flew across the finish line 1.589 seconds ahead of last week’s Kentucky Speedway race winner Joey Logano. Bowyer completed the race third, Edwards’ teammate David Ragan claimed fourth and Michael Waltrip Racing product David Reutimann rounded out the race top five. Edwards kept hold of the fourth spot in the series standings with his seventh top-five and ninth top-10 finish of the season. His 14th career series victory ended a 36-race winless period that dated back to his June 9, 2007 triumph at Nashville Superspeedway. Logano moved from 54th to 44th in the series standings by earning his second straight top-five finish and third top-10 finish in his fourth start of the campaign. Bowyer rolled out his seventh top-five and 14th top-10 finish of the season through 17 events. He has scored top-five finishes in two of his past four series starts and top-10 finishes in seven straight races. Ragan advanced from sixth to fifth in the series standings with his fourth top-five and 10th top-10 run of the season. He has hit a race top five in two of his past three starts. He also has nailed down top-10 finishes in three straight and four of his last five races. Reutimann retained his grasp on the third spot in the series championship hunt. He delivered his sixth top-five and ninth top-10 finish of the season. He has rolled to top-five finishes in four of the past six series events. The series travels to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for its next event June 28. ABC will begin its race coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128 will take to the airwaves at 3:00 p.m. Kevin Harvick won the 2007 race from the pole position. KYLE BUSCH RAISES NSCS WIN TOTAL TO FIVE AT INFINEON RACEWAY

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch maintained the lead in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings and raised his series-leading win total to five by leading 78 of 112 race laps on the 1.99-mile Infineon Raceway road course June 22. Busch led the race twice, including the final 41 laps. He crossed the finish line 1.716 seconds ahead of 2006 Kentucky Speedway NASCAR Nationwide Series winner and Robert Yates Racing driver David Gilliland, who earned his career-best series finish and moved from 19th to 21st in the series championship standings. Hendrick Motorsports road racing ace Jeff Gordon nailed down third, Richard Childress Racing driver Clint Bowyer placed fourth and Gordon’s teammate Casey Mears completed the race top five. Busch earned his 10th top-five and 11th top-10 finish of the season. He has grabbed four wins and seven top-three finishes in the past 10 series events. Gilliland earned his first top-five and second top-10 finish of the season. His previous best 2008 finish was a ninth-place run at Bristol Motor Speedway March 15. Gordon advanced from ninth to sixth in the series standings with his fourth top-five finish in his past six starts and fifth top-10 finish in the past seven series events. He has taken 12 top-10 finishes in 16 career series starts at Infineon Raceway. He owns seven top-five and eight top-10 finishes through 16 of 36 races this season. Bowyer moved from 12th to 10th in the series standings with his first top-five finish in his past six events. The effort also marked his fourth top-five and eighth top-10 finish of the season. Mears motored into a race top 10 for the first time since his seventh-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway April 26. He climbed from 27th to 24th in the championship standings and now owns one top-five and three top-10 finishes this season. The series will cross the country for its June 29 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. TNT will open its coverage at 12:30 p.m. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128 will launch radio coverage at 2:00 p.m. Denny Hamlin won the July 2007 race at the track that Dave Blaney started from the pole position. WHELDON WINS ICS IOWA AFFAIR

IndyCar Series driver Dan Wheldon earned his second IndyCar Series win of the season and the fifth for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates through eight events this season on June 22 at Iowa Speedway. Wheldon glided over the finish line 0.1430 of a second ahead of Andretti Green Racing rookie and 2007 Kentucky Speedway Firestone Indy Lights race winner Hideki Mutoh. Mutoh’s teammate Marco Andretti took third, race pole award winner Scott Dixon snared fourth and Vision Racing’s A.J. Foyt, IV captured fifth. Wheldon took the lead from Penske Racing driver Helio Castroneves on Lap 190 of 250 and stayed in front of the pack over the final 61 laps. Wheldon earned his third consecutive top-four finish and his fifth in his past six series outings. Mutoh booked his career-best finish that represented his second straight top-10 showing and fourth top-10 finish in the past five races. He has taken five top-10 finishes this season. Andretti drove to his third top-five finish in his past five races and his fourth top-five finish of the season. Dixon maintained the lead in the series standings with his sixth consecutive top-five run and seventh top-five finish of the season. Foyt engineered his first top-five finish of the season and second top-10 finish in his past five starts. Castroneves maintained the second spot in the championship battle despite enduring his season-worst 14th-place finish that ended his string of top-five runs at seven. The series will travel to Richmond International Raceway for its next race June 28. Dario Franchitti won the 2007 event at the track from the pole position. Race coverage will begin at 8:00 p.m., on ESPN and 7:30 p.m., on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network. ARCA RE/MAX SERIES TO CONQUER CANADA JUNE 29

The ARCA RE/MAX Series will sojourn north of the U.S. border June 29 for a 250-lap battle on the .625-mile paved oval at Cayuga Speedway Park in Burlington, Ontario. The series last raced in Canada at Delaware Speedway in London, Ontario July 11, 1992.
