June 28 IndyCar Race at Richmond Features SunTrust Charity Challenge
ATLANTA (June 4, 2008) – In celebration of the overwhelming success of the My Cause charitable campaign, race fans in Virginia can help their favorite charity to the tune of up to $20,000 by correctly picking the winner of the June 28 SunTrust Indy Challenge IndyCar Series event at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.
The SunTrust Charity Challenge, a drawing for which fans can enter at 191 participating SunTrust Bank branches in the state of Virginia, provides $5,000 for the winning contestant and $10,000 to his or her designated charity. If the contestant also correctly picks the winning driver of the SunTrust Indy Challenge race, the prize money doubles – $10,000 to the winning contestant and $20,000 for his or her designated charity.
“Our My Cause campaign, which generates a donation to the favorite charity of anyone who opens a new SunTrust checking account, has been embraced so well by our communities that we wanted to incorporate the spirit of the campaign into our longstanding sponsorship of the SunTrust Indy Challenge,” said C.T. Hill, Mid-Atlantic Chairman, President and CEO, SunTrust Banks, Inc. “As evidenced by the success of our My Cause campaign, the spirit of giving is very much alive and well in the communities where we do business. We believe race fans in the state of Virginia will be thrilled by the chance to help out their favorite cause in an impactful way.”
SunTrust is in its eighth year of sponsoring the annual IndyCar Series stop at Richmond
