Topeka, KS. – Australian Top Alcohol Funny Car racer, Steve Harker is keen to turn –up the heat at this weekend’s NHRA race event after his recent Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series (LODRS) event win just two weeks previous. The NHRA series heads for Heartland Park Raceway in Topeka, KS for race 9 of 24.

Harker is the current LODRS Division 4 Top Alcohol Funny Car Champion, and has already scored two division wins and a runner-up finish at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA SoutherNationals. Harker is looking to go one-better than his performance at this event in 2007 where he earned a runner-up finish.

Harker’s last National event win was in 2001 at Bristol Dragway, and by far has been one of the most consistent competitors this season running in the 5.50’s and 5.60’s repeatedly. Harker is long over-due for a National event win and may get the chance to compete for event honors on Sunday, with his current performance we know he will defiantly be notching the heat up to the max.

Meanwhile, over in the Top Alcohol Dragster category, Steve’s daughter Diana will be behind the wheel of the Lend America, Randy Meyer Racing Top Alcohol Dragster. The pair came close to having a Harker in both the Alcohol Funny Car and Alcohol Dragster Finals just weeks previous at Atlanta Dragway.

Steve would like to thank his crew and sponsors for their continued dedication and support. Including, Southern Safety Supply, Lucas Oil Products, and Hedman Hedders.

Qualifying for Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Summer Nationals at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS begins this Friday at 3.00pm & 5.30pm and on Saturday at 10.15am & 3.00pm. Eliminations for all classes begin Sunday at 11am.
