Tony Stewart Racing Hits the Dirt For Final USAC Midget Maynia Event
INDIANAPOLIS – After a three-race stretch of USAC Racing in central Indiana, Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Levi Jones and Tracy Hines travel north and west for USAC National Midget Car Series action Friday as they tackle the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, Wis. The Seventh Annual Sue Theil Memorial Classic marks the second appearance in Beaver Dam for the USAC National Midget Car Series, which made its debut at the half-mile facility last season.
Hines is the series leader heading into Friday’s event, as he currently sits atop the USAC Midget Series standings with 387 points. He’ll make his first start at the facility this week. Jones is currently ranked ninth in the series championship standings with 258 points. He finished fourth at the track on Aug. 31, 2007. TSR has competed in the three prior Midget Maynia Tour events held earlier this month and is eligible for the Midget Maynia Tour mini-series bonus.
For more information regarding this week’s final Midget Maynia, please call 920-319-0177. The official Web site of the Dodge County Fairgrounds is www.dodgecountyfairgrounds.com.
Competitors taking part in this month’s four-event Midget Maynia Tour have a unique incentive in the way of a $5,000 point fund to be distributed after the fourth and final race of the mini-series Friday. The event will be the only race of the mini-series to be held on a dirt track. The Midget car owner earning the most points in the four events will receive a $1,000 bonus. The remainder of the point fund will be distributed among those teams that compete in all four Midget Maynia Tour events.

The USAC Midget Series event at the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway last season was a turning point for the team. Are you looking forward to competing there again later this week?
“Last year, we hit our stride in the USAC Midget Series starting at Dodge County. From that point forward, we were consistent and had several top-five finishes and got a win after that race. I’d like to see the same thing happen for us again this year. We’ve been working really hard on our Midget program and I was really excited to get a top-10 at ORP last weekend. I think that we’re going to have a good race on Friday and that we’ll be able to put Chevy and Bass Pro Shops up front.”

Are you looking forward to your first USAC Midget Series race at Dodge Country Fairgrounds Speedway on Friday?
“Friday’s race will be my first event at Dodge Country and I’m looking forward to it. I’ve seen the track and watched an event there, but when you race at a facility for the first time, you learn a lot more than you do when you’re just watching. I think it will be a situation where we need a good base set-up to start from and we’ll go from there. The TSR team has been working really hard in the shop to make sure we’re as prepared as we can be right out of the truck at each race and I don’t see Friday’s race being any different. I think TSR has a good chance to put Chevy and Bass Pro Shops in the winner’s circle this weekend.”
