Hella and HBPO receive high accolade from the Volkswagen Group

Lippstadt/Ibiza - As two of the 15 best international suppliers to the Volkswagen Group, both the lighting and electronics specialist Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., Lippstadt, and the frontend specialist HBPO GmbH, Lippstadt, were presented with the "Volkswagen Group Award 2008" on the Spanish island of Ibiza on 24th May 2008. "We are very pleased with this award, and see it as motivation for the further consistent improvement of our performance to ensure we remain among the circle of winners in future, too," said Dr. Rolf Breidenbach, Chairman of the Management Board at Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., at the award ceremony. The Volkswagen Group Award is presented in honour of a supplier's overall entrepreneurial performance. According to Volkswagen, the 15 award winners all notably meet the requirements set by Europe's leading car manufacturer for its premium suppliers.

Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., Lippstadt:

The automotive parts supplier develops and manufactures components and systems for lighting technology and electronics for the automotive industry and has one of the largest trade organisations for automotive parts and accessories in the world. The Hella Group turnover is around 3.7 billion Euros. More than 25,000 people work in 70 manufacturing facilities, production subsidiaries and joint ventures all over the world. More than 3,000 engineers and technicians work in research and development throughout the company group.

HBPO GmbH, Lippstadt:

HBPO is the only company in the world to specialise in the design, development, assembly and logistics of complex frontend modules. The company was founded at the beginning of 2004 as a joint venture between the three automotive parts suppliers Hella, Behr and Plastic Omnium and emerged from the company Hella-Behr Fahrzeugsysteme GmbH set up in 1999. In 2007, the company's turnover was 762 million Euros. HBPO has 1,250 employees world-wide who are currently producing about 2.8 million frontends per year in 16 JIS (just-in-sequence) manufacturing facilities in Europe, North America and Asia.
