The new Berlingo has passed the EuroNCAP tests with flying colours, setting a new standard in the leisure activity vehicle segment. With its reinforced structure and top-level safety equipment, it scored four stars in adult protection, four in child protection and two in pedestrian protection, making it the perfect choice for safe family transport.

Top-level passive safety

These impressive scores are largely a result of the new Berlingo’s body structure, which has been thoroughly reinforced, particularly at the front and middle pillars. These changes provide the stiffness necessary for passenger protection while optimising impact absorption.

The new Berlingo is available with a complete system of passenger protection equipment. It can be fitted with up to six airbags: the driver and front passenger airbags are standard while the two side chest airbags and two curtain airbags ship as options.

The new model features height-adjustable front seat belts with pyrotechnic pretensioners and load limiters to ease pressure on impact. The driver gets a seat belt warning alarm while back-seat passengers benefit from three three-point belts.

Lastly, the baby-friendly car is equipped with three Isofix anchor points on the two side seats in the back and the front passenger seat.

Innovative active safety

The new Berlingo is equally strong on active safety. To prevent accidents from happening, the newcomer boasts top-flight roadholding:

- Featuring wider track together with running gear borrowed from the C4 Picasso – renowned for its impressive road manners – the new Berlingo has exceptionally high levels of on-road stability. It also has a longer wheelbase and 15-inch (205/65 R15) wheels or optional 16-inch wheels (215/55 R16). Like all Citroën’s other models, the new Berlingo ships with top-quality Michelin tyres as standard. The Marque’s new leisure activity vehicle also innovates in the segment with a tyre pressure monitoring system. And for optimal vehicle control, the new Berlingo can be fitted with ESP and ASR traction control.

- The new Berlingo is equipped with class-leading brakes. Standard equipment includes ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist and automatic hazard warning lights.

The new Berlingo features a wealth of additional equipment to boost vehicle control, including cruise control and a speed limiter, hill-start assist (for models fitted with ESP), automatic headlights and rear parking assist.

Citroën has also focused on child safety, fitting the new Berlingo with a child mirror and an electric child-door locking system activated from the dashboard.

The new Berlingo provides families with optimum practicality.
