FORMULA SAE EVENT DEBUTS AT MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MAY 16-17

BROOKLYN, Mich. – More than 100 university Formula SAE teams from around the world will converge on Michigan International Speedway for one of the most popular of the SAE Collegiate Design Series events.

Started in 1981, Formula SAE is an educational competition that challenges university undergraduate and graduate engineering students to design, build and compete in scaled-down, Formula-style autocross racecars replete with four-stroke piston engines with a displacement not exceeding 610 cc per cycle.

Along with Formula SAE, SAE’s Collegiate Design Series other competitions include Aero Design, Clean Snowmobile Challenge, Baja SAE and Supermileage.
