INDIANAPOLIS (May 6, 2008) – For Kraig Kinser and the Tony Stewart Racing team, actual racing action in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series isn’t the only thing that has been elusive thus far this season. The No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/Chevy/Maxim team has also continued to seek consistency on the track.

As Kinser and the TSR team head to Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Ill., and Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway (PIR) for a doubleheader this weekend, they’ll be looking to hit the perfect combination on both of the 3/8-mile facilities.

Friday’s event at Tri-City will see him return to the track for the first time since it was resized from a half-mile to the current configuration. In his last appearance at the facility, on May 7, 2005, Kinser scored a strong third-place finish. The WoO Sprint Series’ last appearance at the popular dirt track saw Danny Lasoski take the checkered flag on June 14, 2007.

For Kinser, Saturday’s event at PIR will see him hit that track for the first time since June 12, 2001, when he finished 16th. That was his first and only PIR appearance. Lasoski also won the 2007 WoO Sprint Series event at PIR on April 6, 2007. The track is co-owned by NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Kenny Schrader, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and longtime race promoter Bob Sargent.

Kinser enters this weekend’s racing action ranked 14th in the WoO Sprint Series Championship standings. He has made seven series starts thus far in 2008, having earned one top-10 finish.

Pit gates and general admission will open at 12 p.m. CDT Friday at Tri-City Speedway. Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for Friday’s race can be purchased online at the track’s official Web site, www.tricityspeedway.net, or by calling 800-617-9077 or 636-448-9111.

The pit gate and grandstands for Saturday’s WoO Sprint Series event at PIR will open at 3 p.m. CDT with qualifying scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 270-898-7469. The official Web site of PIR is www.paducahracing.com.

Race fans unable to attend this weekend’s events can catch all of the action on DIRTVision.com. Fans can listen live as Johnny Gibson, “Voice of the Outlaws,” calls the action as he does at all WoO Sprint Series events on the DIRTVision.com cybercast, as well as on the DIRT Radio Network. Go to www.DIRTVision.com for more information on all the site features, including updated results from each night of racing, as well as a chat room to interact with other race fans.

Quotes from Kraig Kinser, driver of the No. 20 TSR/Bass Pro Shops/Maxim:

Tri-City Speedway has been reconfigured to a 3/8-mile track since you last competed there? Have you seen the facility since it was resized?

“I haven’t seen the track at all since the last time I raced there in 2005. I’m looking forward to making the trip to Tri-City (Speedway) later this week. It will be pretty cool to see how it’s changed and what the racing is like there now.”

It’s been almost seven years since you last competed at Paducah International Raceway. What do you remember about the track?

“I have only raced at Paducah one time in my career and it’s been some time since I’ve been on the track there. I don’t remember a lot about the facility, but I know that it will come back to me as we get into the night. Having been away from most of these race tracks for several years, it’s been fun getting reacquainted with all of their unique characteristics. We always take notes at each track we go to and that gives us somewhere to start each night. But things usually differ from the last time I raced there. We work on our set-ups and try some different things. We’re working to move our program forward and we’ll go out this weekend and try to put up two good finishes for Bass Pro Shops and Chevy.”
