AGONIZING FIRST ROUND FOR J.R. TODD
MADISON, Ill. (May 4) – It was an agonizing first round loss against Alan Bradshaw for J.R. Todd and his Torco/Lucas Oil Top Fuel team in the running of the O’Reilly Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway when he collected his fourth hole-shot loss of his career and second in consecutive weekends.
Todd recorded an elapsed time of 4.542 seconds, 319.14 mph to Bradshaw’s slower, but winning time of 4.561 seconds, 319.67 mph leaving the margin of victory to .015-thousands-of-a-second.
With his early departure from the St. Louis event, Todd has now acquired a total of 225 NHRA POWERade Top Fuel points and remains in the No. 13 position in the championship standings.
Up next will be Tennessee’s eighth annual O’Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals on May 16 – 18 at the scenic Bristol Dragway.
