FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

!!! BRADY SHORT MAINTAINS PERFECT RECORD !!!
 DEMOSS & HINES WIN TOO

BLOOMINGTON, IN (April 26, 2008) - Last night was our Inaugural Spring Clash. At Bloomington Speedway we have a lot of special events. And we sort of become hostage to our own success. If a new event isn't a huge success, we will feel that we've underperformed our expectations. We felt we had done all that we could do from a race standpoint. By having the event in the Spring, we were able to avoid competing against most other big shows.

Something else that is required for a winning program is a generous purse. Mike Miles covered this by offering a $3000 to win $300 to start the feature purse structure. To that he added a generous lap prize package. The bases were covered. However, the wild card that remained was the weather. The forecast called for rain; and skies were overcast. However, the competitors had not been scared off. Fifty-one of the best sprint cars around were unloaded. And, they were ready to race.

As the night progressed we felt a few drops of rain several times. However, there was never enough of it to interrupt the action on the track.

SAFETY-KLEEN SPRINT CARS - SPRING CLASH --

Part of last night's race being something special was the fact that the sprint cars, once again, qualified. Eighteen year old Brady Bacon set quick time in his Kasey Kahne owned sprinter. Shane Cottle, Cole Whitt, Jeff Bland, Jr., Daron Clayton, Jon Stanbrough, Jesse Hockett, Brad Sweet, Bret Mellenberndt, and Dustin Morgan rounded out the top ten in time trials.

The sprinters were divided into five heat races. Brady Short won the first heat from his outside front row starting position while Chris Windom and Jon Stanbrough picked up the two remaining tickets to the feature.

Dickie Gaines won the second heat from the pole while Jesse Hockett and Shane Cottle came from the second row to finish second and third respectively. Thomas Meseraull, Cole Whitt, and Jon Sciscoe transferred from the third heat while A.J. Anderson, Jeff Bland, Jr, and Bret Mellenberndt came from the fourth heat.

The final heat yielded Danny Holtsclaw, Dustin Morgan, and Hunter Schuerenberg as its transfers from the fifth and final heat to the feature..

Chris Babcock won the "C" feature followed by Broc Burton, Bub Cummings, Kenny Niflis, and Ricky Williams. They tagged the tail of the "B" feature which was won by Brady Bacon ahead of Kyle Cummins, Kevin Briscoe, Jesse Cramer, and Arin McIntosh.

The only thing better than bringing in all of the big guns for your special sprint car race is bringing in all of the big guns for your special sprint race and having your regular drivers outrun them. When the sprint car feature lined up, Brady Short, A.J. Anderson, Dickie Gaines, Thomas Meseraull, Danny Holtsclaw, and Chris Windom held the first six spots; and, when the green flag waved, Short took the lead with A.J. Anderson trailing behind. Only three laps deep in the feature, Meseraull sailed off of the south end of the track, flipping several times. He walked away from the crash; but the beautiful 10T required a little help.

As the race resumed, Brady Short immediately began stretch out his lead with a cluster of Anderson, Dickie Gaines, Chris Windom, Jesse Hockett, and Jeff Bland, Jr. in pursuit. Of course, any of those guys in pursuit could be expected to give Short all he needed; however, he would pull away after every break in the action.

Jon Stanbrough who won just about everything last season and who generally runs strong at Bloomington started the feature mid field; however, he had worked his way into the top five when he tangled with Gaines and flipped wildly off of the north end of the track. His night was done.

After each pause in the action, Short would charge out to a substantial lead. However, late in the race Jeff Bland, Jr. took his Daryl Tate wrenched sprinter up onto the rim and began to gain on Short. It looked as if it might come down to a duel between two Bloomington Speedway regulars for the honor of besting all of the visiting talent. However, Bland tangled with Holtsclaw and spun. Short went on to complete his flag to flag victory.

Brady Short had driven his family owned sprint car to a commanding win over some of the top sprint car drivers anywhere.

Brady Bacon started the feature in 16th position and drove to fifth place finish to lock up hard charger honors.

O'NEAL WOOD PRODUCTS MODIFIEDS -

When the O'Neal Wood Products Modifieds were lined up for the start of their feature, Ryan Thomas, Brad Barrow, John DeMoss, Chase Sterrett, Clint DeMoss, and Matt Boknecht occupied the first three rows.

When Rusty Nunn waved the green flag, Ryan Thomas took the lead and John DeMoss took second followed by Brad Barrow, Chase Sterrett, and Clint DeMoss. On the third circuit, Clint DeMoss passed Sterrett to take fourth; and on the fifth circuit John DeMoss passed Thomas to take the lead .that he would hold the rest of the way to the checkered flag. On the 21st lap Clint DeMoss passed Thomas to take over second place. That was the way they finished. John DeMoss had the win, followed by Clint DeMoss. Ryan Thomas, Matt Boknecht, Shelby Miles, Brad Barrow, Kent Robinson, Chase Sterret, Matt Bex, and Kenny Carmichael, Sr.

In preliminary modified competition John DeMoss, Matt Boknecht, and Brad Barrow won the heat races while Bex prevailed in the "B" Feature.

Bex also took hard charger honors.

TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCK COMPETITION -

Two of our toughest Tire & Wheel Center Super Stock drivers, Jeremy Hines and Chris Hillman, started on the front row of their feature. Considerable effort was involved in getting the feature underway. However, when the race finally completed the first lap to get the race officially started, it went to the white flag before the yellow flew again.

Hines took the lead when the green flag waved; and Hillman fell in behind him followed by Jack Frye and Marty Cooper. On the 14th circuit Brad Cummings passed Cooper to take fourth place; and, one lap later, Chris Deweese of Columbus passed Cooper to take fifth. They ran in that order until lap 24 when mechanical woes sidelined Hillman. Jeremy Hines scored his first Tire & Wheel Center Super Stock feature win of the season. Jack Frye came home second trailed by Cummings, Deweese, and Cooper.

In preliminary super stock action, Chris Hillman, Jeremy Hines, and Jack Frye won the heat races while Kevin Arthur took the "B" feature.

Troy Clark took hard charger honors.
