Scott Taylor Seeks Seventh CORR PRO-2 Title
Scott Taylor Seeks Seventh CORR PRO-2 Title
Belvidere, IL ? (April 23, 2008) - Scott Taylor and his #8 Skyjacker
Suspensions BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 are back racing the CORR
series, full-time, looking to take back the championship. From 1998 to
2005 Scott Taylor was the one driver everyone measured themselves
against. During that seven year period, Taylor Racing won the
championship six times and was runner up once, feat that may never be
seen again in off-road racing.
?For most of my career I was the hunted,? commented Scott Taylor.
?After winning the WSORR championship last year, we ran the last few
CORR rounds in Dallas and Vegas. We had some mechanical issues, but we
ran up front every time. Now, everyone on the internet is picking a
West Coast guy to win PRO-2 this weekend. I guess I?m flying under the
radar now. With this brand new truck under me, I think we are going to
surprise some of the fans this weekend.?
The veteran of short course off-road racing is very appreciative that
many of his partners have been with the team since the formation of
Championship Off-Road Racing. In fact, Taylor has been racing on
BFGoodrich tires for over thirty years. Then when the team made the
switch from racing buggies to trucks, Ford Trucks made him a member of
the Rough Riders.
?BFGoodrich was the best tire when we started, and they are still the
best today!? exclaims Taylor. ??without the backing of Ford Trucks, I
wouldn?t be where we are today.?
In 2004, Skyjacker Suspensions came on board, as title sponsor, after
another long time supporter changed its marketing plan.
?I can?t say enough about the support that the McCurry?s and entire
Skyjacker Suspensions family have given our team,? states Taylor.
?There have been a few times, over the years, we wouldn?t have made
the starting grid without the extra hand from Lonnie and his guys. The
family atmosphere that Skyjacker creates, promotes a great working and
racing environment. My family and crew are proud to present Skyjacker
Suspensions.?
Earlier in the week saw the Taylor Racing Ford head to the West Coast
for some pre-season testing. Under the keen eye of chassis designer
and builder, Russ Wernimont, the team spent a day in Lake Elsinore, CA
on the specially designed test track.
?Scott put in about thirty laps, and after a few shock adjustments, we
found the setup we were looking for,? commented Wernimont. ?The
BFGoodrich tires really hooked up with Roush engine and the Skyjacker
engineered suspension handled whatever the track gave us. The truck is
ready for Pomona.?
Taylor Racing thanks again all it longtime partners including;
Skyjacker Suspensions, BFGoodrich Tires, Ford Trucks, Roush
Performance, Automatic Transmission Designs, Russ Wernimont Designs,
Justice Brothers, Miller Electric, MSD Ignition, Phil's Inc.,
Precision Gear, Auto Meter, K&N Engineering, Mastercraft and Ringers
Gloves.
The first rounds of racing for the 2008 CORR PRO-2 Championship, are
April 26-27, at The Fairplex in Pomona, California.
If you can?t get to the track, you can catch the first round of racing
live on SPEED, at 3:30pm eastern. Then Round Two will be broadcast on
