Skoda Auto successfully launches the Fabia Combi

MLADA BOLESLAV, Czech Republic - Skoda Auto's results as at the end of the first quarter of 2008 are excellent. The sales over the past three months totalled 173,474 vehicles, i.e., grew by 15.7% as compared to the same period of last year. The new Skoda Fabia Combi is a great success. Launched this year in January, 19,503 Combis were delivered to customers over the first quarter. As a result, the total number of customers choosing a Fabia model over this period is 63,579 (+ 8.5 %).

Also the Skoda Octavia retained its popularity over the first three months of the year - the Company sold 70,970 (+ 33.8 %) vehicles of this popular medium-class model.

The Q1 results are positively influenced by the growing demand in Eastern Europe and China. 27,461 Skoda vehicles were sold in Eastern Europe (+ 38.6 %). China's sales network is growing and so are the sales. Skoda vehicles in China are made locally, under a licence production arrangement. Altogether 16,212 cars were sold from January till March.

The Q1 2008 sales of Skoda vehicles in other markets including the domestic one remained steady.
